      Currently, when people speak of a "promising neighbourhood in Esch-sur-Alzette", they often mention Belval. However, one of the most ambitious projects of the last decade is developing just a stone's throw from the town centre-the "Nonnewisen" area.
      Geographically, this area is located on the northern outskirts of Esch-sur-Alzette, covering approximately 30 hectares and bordering the A4 motorway. Development began in 2010 with the construction of a primary school (17 classes including preschool), along with a sports hall and swimming pool, followed by the first residential buildings. Half the project is already built, and 35% of the expected 2,000 residents are already living in colourful buildings.
      The two houses for sale are ideally located in this rapidly expanding neighbourhood, which combines social and architectural diversity. Also known as “Wunnen am Park”, the area is calm and welcoming, with small local shops and other infrastructure such as a swimming pool, schools, daycare centres, a hospital, and banks.
      The Nonnewisen neighbourhood includes large green areas filled with hidden natural treasures, such as rose hips that are harvested after the first frost. These areas also serve as walking paths and gathering spots for residents.
      To the north of the area, you’ll find the Lankelz commercial and industrial zone, which features a multifunctional hall and a sports museum. The connection between both zones encourages functional diversity.       Many areas in “Nonnewisen” are car-free zones. To solve parking issues, a large parking facility has already been built, capable of accommodating several hundred vehicles — hence the now well-known parking lot on the site.
      As part of the development of this new urban district, the Dipbach stream in Esch-Nonnewisen — which had been heavily modified by human activity — has been restored to its natural state. Over a stretch of approximately 250 meters, the stream, which previously ran through a trapezoidal concrete channel, has been renaturalized.
